introduction to net.art >>
According to the authors, net.art is an historical phenomenon
that can be traced to the years 1994-1999. What are the
historical consequences of creating historical proclamations
such as this? Is this also too self-reflexive? Or
is it a pure performance play in the art world marketplace
that enables the artists to use entrepreneurial language
and witty self-acknowledgement to better position themselves
in the digital art timeline? The bottom line: more serious
play for the net art junky.
